And now here's Biscuits with the news........

ALOT OF NEWS TODAY!

SO P-L-E-A-S-E POST ANY COMMENTS YOU MIGHT HAVE REGARDING TODAYS NEWS ITEMS!!

1: Congratulations go out to Aaron Cunningham on winning the Iron Man Tournament this past Saturday, with an astonishing 52! Even though we have cleared out and even opened up some of the fairways out here at Greer, shooting par is still a formidable challenge, let alone hitting below par and with only 1 disc! Amazing!

2: A special thanks go out to the following people for making the Iron Man happen, and the Greer course what it is today:

Bill Ball
Carla Ball
Kraig Scott
Bruce Viehmen (Greer Parks & Recreation)
Ann Cunningham (Greer Parks & Recreation)
Marty ?(Greer Parks & Recreation)
Russel ?(Innova)
Foothills Disc Golf Club
Upstate Disc Golf Club
Greater Oconee Disc Golf

3: By all definitions, the Iron Man tournament was a great success, however, we just aren't raising the kind of money we need to show that the disc golf community as a whole wants this course. As I stated at the Iron Man, we have been fighting our best to keep this course alive(and by alive, I mean not ripped from the ground for another baseball diamond and/or dog park), and the weaker our numbers, the harder it is to show that we want this course. All in all we raised $233.00 dollars that day, a far cry from what we need.

4: The above being said, I have been kicking a few ideas around in my head to try and bring in the extra funds needed. The first idea is to have a "Friday Night Doubles" season, beginning in May. The second, is a doubles tournament called "The Par Shooter Showdown". The P.S.S. will basically flow as such: If a team fails to shoot par or below on any hole, they are disqualified.

5: Innova has been out evaluating our course and working on a revision of their own. In the meantime, we have already presented a revision map to Ann at Parks & Recreation, which you can view by clicking the image below:

As I stated before, I really need feedback from everyone on any of these items. The more feedback, the stronger the showing of support.

I'm not sure where to post this comment, but I vote for Greer Doubles on Thursday nights. Cool pictures btw, can't wait to play the new course.

1) I've been playing Disc Golf in SC for a number of years now, and played the Greer course frequently when my gf lived only two miles from there, but only today did I happen upon this website and see some of the issues you guys are having. I would suggest GETTING THE WORD OUT that you guys exist by contacting some of the other clubs in the state and also starting a thread or two on the PDGA DISCussion board.

2) As far as the new course layout is concerned, I'm really disappointed with the exclusion of two existing holes: 14 and 16. I think these two holes are by FAR the best holes out there right now. A drive over the creek that's recoverable if it goes in, and then another short drive over the creek with a LOT OF RISK if it hits a tree and goes in, are THE two signature holes out there. All of the other holes, by comparison, are pretty lame as there is NO RISK involved. So I say KEEP those two holes and work them in to any new course design PLEASE!!!

Any revisions to correct the original design flaws will be a great improvement!
